Innocent, in pain and living in constant dismay ... this was the life of a young, Gayle Smith. She was on born December 23, 1956 in Los Angeles, CA and many years would go by before Gayle would know what it meant to be in control of her life, in control of her emotions. She spent many days, and more nights, with anxiety in her belly and not knowing where her next home would be. Yet, she survived and walks in her destiny to help others by sharing her story. Gayle L. Smith is a survivor.
A survivor of physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse, she spent most of her childhood days tormented, but she chooses not carry the burden of those memories as she once did; for she has grown beyond that pain. Her organization "Empowered through Adversity" was created for the purpose of helping others to realize their destiny. Gayle firmly believes that we have no power over our past but through God’s guidance the future can be bright and rewarding.
Philippians 3:13 KJV, reads: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
